I can't believe he said this!

My boyfriend and I are opposite in a lot of ways.

I work out of my home (or from my laptop when I'm traveling). I believe in the power of stillness, journalling and a lot of the "woo" that I've learned about since starting my online business a few years ago.

He commutes at least a couple hours every day, loves being on the go in every waking second, works with his hands (he's a welder), and does not really believe in any sort of spiritual practice.

For a really long time, I was afraid to mention any of the "woo woo" concepts that I learned through coaching and starting my online business. I wasn't sure how he'd respond.

I honestly would get a little bit anxious when I thought about mentioning it. Looking back, I think it was partly because I was still figuring out my understanding of it.

But, as most things do over time, it's become just a natural part of my language over the last year or more, so I talk about it a lot more.

He listens and many times asks good questions, but overall seemingly hasn't really been open to most of it. And this is fine and expected. He accepts me for me, and that's the most important thing of all.

But something quite interesting happened this morning!

On his way to work, he called me to say good morning and while he was telling me something, he said,

"Well, that's the universe telling me not to do that..."

My jaw DROPPED with how easily he said that. It seemed like it flowed out so naturally.

I asked him if he was being serious or sarcastic (he's naturally a big jokester). He said he was actually being serious.

I never in a million years think I'd hear that come out of his mouth. Ha!

I think I'm finally rubbing off on him!

Remember that saying, "You're the product of the 5 people you spend the most time with"?

Well, I think the one thing we forget when it comes to this say is that the people around you are also a product of you and your energy.

And by being you, sharing your gifts and your energy, you are going to rub off on them too.

You don't have to do ANYTHING other than be you. And you will inspire others to shift the way they see the world.

It CAN seem scary at first to just be you because you're afraid of how other will respond...but don't let the reactions of others keep you from being your authentic self.

And the thing is - people might surprise you. In fact, I know from experience that they will.

And even if they don't respond as positively as you might hope...the best part is, you are being YOU. And that is most in service to you and your dreams.

So give it a try! It might actually be a relief to finally allow those things out!

We only have one wild and precious life; dare to live your dreams! And by being your authentic self, you will realize your dreams so much faster! <3

xx, Kim
